The Konstal N, produced from 1948 to 1956 in Chorzów, was the first Polish tram built in large numbers after World War II. Powered by two electric traction motors and fed by a trolley pole from overhead wires, the Konstal N delivered steady, dependable performance. Its simple mechanical and electrical systems allowed transport depots to maintain and repair them with limited resources—critical in the years of post-war shortages. The tram’s strong suspension and sturdy wheels handled uneven tracks and harsh weather with ease.
