The DT-75, produced from 1963 at the Volgograd Tractor Plant, became one of the most recognizable crawler tractors in the Soviet Union and across Eastern Europe. The DT-75 was powered by a simple, reliable diesel engine—usually the A-41 or later A-01M series—delivering between 75 and 95 horsepower depending on the variant. Mated to a manual gearbox with multiple forward and reverse speeds, it provided the torque needed for deep plowing, land reclamation, and pulling heavy agricultural or construction equipment. Hydraulic connections and a rear hitch allowed it to work with large implements like plows, scrapers, and seed drills.
